Enrolling Your Tamariki

Our school accepts enrolments throughout the year and from any location. We do not have a zone or enrolment scheme.

Due to our strong reputation and long-established connections, we have students attending from all over Rotorua.

Enrolling your child is relatively straightforward:

  • Enrolment Forms: these can be picked up from our Office. Alternatively, please call or email us and we can post the forms out, drop them off,  or email them to you.

  • Visits for 4-year-olds turning 5: we encourage visits to our new entrant classes - both English speaking (English Medium) or Maori speaking (Maori medium) classes. Please be in contact with our Office staff to organise visits or contact Wendy Leeke leekew@selwynschool.school.nz or Hiria Walker walkerh@selwynschool.school.nz our new entrant teachers. The other option is that we arrange visits when you enroll as long as this allows time for your child. We are flexible around when visits happen - days, time of day and length of visit. Unlike other schools, we acknowledge whanau are busy people and therefore we are flexible to meet your needs so we do not restrict visits to a particular day or time.

  • Stationery, fees, donations, uniform: we do not have a school uniform. Stationery is supplied and fees are not charged and donations are not asked for. We are as close to a free education as you can get and we are all about removing barriers to learning and well-being at school.
