The New Zealand Ministry of Education has a clear and ambitious headline goal: 80% of students must attend school "regularly" by 2030. In New Zealand, "regular attendance" is defined as a student being at school for more than 90% of the term. To put that in perspective, missing just five days in a 10-week term drops a student below that 90% threshold.
